King Charles briefed on Prince Andrew’s new controversy amid duke’s statement
Britain’s security services have reportedly briefed King Charles on his younger brother Prince Andrew’s alleged links to the businessman.
According to a report by Reuters, a businessman who had forged close links with Prince Andrew and was authorised to act on his behalf to seek investors in China has been banned from Britain on national security grounds.
The 50-year-old man, who has been granted anonymity and is named only as H6, was taken off a flight from Beijing to London in February 2023 and told that Britain intended to ban him from the country. This happened the following month.
Prince Andrew’s office has also issued a statement which reads, “The Duke of York followed advice from His Majesty’s Government and ceased all contact with the individual after concerns were raised.”
“The Duke met the individual through official channels with nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed. He is unable to comment further on matters relating to national security.”
Amid these reports, the Mirror, per Independent, has reported King Charles has been briefed by British security services over Andrew’s fresh scandal related to country’s national security.
The king is reportedly ‘very aware’ of the situation.
The insider told The Mirror: “The King has been briefed about this situation regarding the suspected spy and is very aware of what has been and what is being done about it.”
