Jamie Oliver reveals unexpected family moment
Jamie Oliver, a renowned celebrity chef, cookbook author, and restaurateur, recently shared a sharp comment from his eight-year-old son, River, about his career.
The 49-year-old chef is famous worldwide for his TV shows, cookbooks, and restaurants over 30 years.
But Oliver revealed that his son is not impressed with his career choices.
On The Graham Norton Show on Friday, December 6, Oliver said, “The other night River said, and I have no idea where it came from, ‘Daddy, do you possess a Michelin star?’”
Further expanding on this, he added, “I was like, ‘No, I don’t really like all that fancy food,’ and he shook his head and said, ‘You don’t like fancy food?’”
Then Oliver erupted into laughter and confessed by saying, “I actually felt like I hadn’t worked hard enough!”
For the unversed, Oliver and his wife Jools, who married in July 2000 in Essex, have five children: Poppy, 22, Daisy, 21, Petal, 15, Buddy, 13, and River, 8.
Buddy is following in his father’s footsteps and has even published his own cookbook.
Moreover, the Jamie at Home star, who illuminated the show with Nicholas Hoult, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Sigourney Weaver, and comedian Lolly Adefope, discussed his new cookbook, Simply Jamie, saying he wants to help the new generation learn to cook.
“People are cooking less than ever—we have a fourth generation who have not learnt to cook, so I want to hold people’s hands so they can get the most out of food, waste as little as possible, and save money,” Oliver stated.
It is pertinent to mention that Simply Jamie was released on September 26, 2024.
