A Look At Masaba Gupta’s Authentic Goan Feast: Chonak Fry, Prawn Pickle And More
Masaba Gupta loves to indulge in regional delicacies when she travels. On a recent trip to Goa, she ensured she sampled local food and tasted the distinctive coastal flavours of the region. Masaba took to her Instagram stories to give her fans and followers a glimpse at her authentic Goan feast, sourced from a restaurant in Ajuna. Her first update featured a single fish treat called Chonak Fry. This seafood delicacy is made by coating giant sea perch or Asian seabass in masala and rava (for a crispy coating). The Chonak fry was served with what looked to be banana chips on the side. As usual, a slice of lemon was provided for squeezing on top of the fish and bringing out its flavours.
That’s not all Masaba relished, however. In her next Instagram story, we saw that she also ate other seafood delicacies: a sukha (dry) prawn pickle and a classic Goan prawn curry with rice. To bring a balance to the plate, she had servings of vegetable dishes such as mooli (radish) sabzi and bhindi (okra). Sounds lip-smacking and wholesome doesn’t it? Masaba thanked the restaurant for accommodating her last-minute lunch request and praised the food, calling it a “top meal.” Take a look at the screengrab below:
