Kate Middleton, Prince William’s friends react to King Charles abdication speculations
Kate Middleton and Prince William’s friends have reacted to the speculations that they will be the king and queen much sooner than anyone imagined as King Charles is said to be considering to make a historic announcement about his abdication.
According to a report by the Yahoo Lifestyle, the Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly preparing to be King and Queen “sooner than they would have expected”.
The outlet quoted a royal insider as claiming that King Charles’ cancer battle has brought forward the discussion of the transition to the throne to William.
Amid these speculations, the friends of Kate and William have come forward saying that succession plans are always in place and “it is something the institution is always mindful of”.
The friends of the future king and queen revealed they will not change their priorities, however, and that their children will always come first.
The insider said, “Life-threatening illnesses bring a reconsideration of priorities. She and William have always made it clear that family is the most important thing.”
Meanwhile, the People quoted a royal source as saying earlier this week, King Charles cancer diagnosis, had prompted William and Kate to focus on their family.
“There’s a sense of calm before the storm. They are next in line for the biggest job of their lives, and of course, Kate’s health has taken priority, but it’s also allowed everyone to take a step back and figure out what’s important right now.”
